This story is a very entertaining read. It held my attention from beginning to end as I read it in two days. It has several good characters and story lines, all of which tie together in a good plot with a plausable ending. The character development is good as is the scenic description. They gives an authenic presentation of the park and the people of the area. I especially loved the presentation of the cougar which is central to the story. She stole the show.Product details

I really enjoyed this and found myself unable to put it down. As my days are spent in the business of things I chose to read it at bedtime and found myself looking forward to the end of the day! Great bedtime story!
The plot kept me reading! The author captured the beauty and the essence of the Texas Hill Country. Deming does an amazing job of describing the beautiful and unique area of Enchanted Rock, just 20 miles north of Fredericksburg, TX. The story, though, kept me captivated. Deming's just-right introduction and subsequent detailed portrayal of the characters in this book makes them real and approachable. I feel like I know these people! This is a good mystery with a very beautiful and concise painted canvass of the Texas Hill Country.
I'm ready for the sequel!
Fun adventure with good intermingled stories and characters which tied together well. I meant to read just a few minutes and finally put it down at page 84 - but only briefly. Finished within the day, setting aside all other activities until I was finished. A sure sign of an enjoyable read.
I live in Fredericksburg, TX, just south of Enchanted Rock, so I enjoyed the book. It gives a good geography of Enchanted Rock State Park, and mentions numerous places in Fredericksburg. I believe Robert Deming wrote about believable characters, and kept me in suspense until the very end.
