On a visit to her sister Jane’s house, Mary Hampton discovers that Jane and Mrs. Hoffman have devised a plan to see her gainfully employed. They talk her into applying at the Broadwell House in Denver City for a nanny position. Widower Brandon Carlyle, who is in town on business, requires a caretaker for his infant daughter, Rosalind, and upon meeting Mary, he hires her.
The attraction between them is undeniable, and, although Mary has a disconcerting habit of speaking her mind too bluntly, she and Brandon develop a relationship. Upon the arrival of his meddling sister and her friend, Mary worries that Brandon will be swayed from offering for her, as he is from a wealthy family and she is the stepdaughter of the local pastor.
But… Brandon is a man who knows his own mind, and the qualities he sees in Mary far outweigh the objections of his family. Although unexpected business calls him away a few days before the wedding, he promises to return in time, heading into the mountains before a storm. As her wedding draws near and Brandon is nowhere to be found, will the promise of a bright new future be dimmed, even before it's begun?

I am not excited about this book. Unfortunately I ordered the entire series. I will eventually read all the books when I have nothing else to read.
This was a quick, easy read. Didn't really flow that great, but it had a decent storyline. I would only rate it a 2 or 3 star.
Nice story. Well written, with a few typos which slowed the reader down a bit. I enjoy these types of stories and found it to be a good afternoon read with an apple in front of the fire.
Who would be happy when sister decides you are to leave the nest and find employment? Not knowing what to expect, Mary becomes a Nanny. Her life is no longer free to do as she wishes. But she finds a new life, filled with new experiences.
Very simply written, no violence,not much of anything. Certainly barely a romance. Kisses and hugs, that's all you get.
Good for those inclined towards sweet clean romances.
This series of book were very good. A little too much with the sex scenes at first but got cleaner towards the end of the series. This author must like the French kissing. Always going into the details of that. Otherwise good books to read.
I like that Mary fell in love with the baby Rosalind, before she fell in love with the baby father Brandon. I like that she encouraged him to mingle wih her family and help him to ignore the woman that his sister tried to get him to marry. I liked that Brandon took her advise and made his own choice of wives.
